Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
Prayer Root: Word to Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Through the words of the apostle Paul, You call us to live a Christ-like life not only in belief, but in everyday action. You invite us to reflect Jesus in the ordinary rhythms of life, where faith is tested, love is practiced, and obedience becomes visible.
I pray that You would cleanse my heart, order my thoughts, strengthen my faith, and shape my life according to Your truth. Form in me a sincere love—love without hypocrisy, without pretense, without hidden motive or self-interest. Let my love be real, intentional, and rooted in You.
Give me a heart that consciously and deliberately hates what is evil and clings firmly to what is good. Train my desires, my choices, and my responses so that goodness is not accidental, but intentional.
Fill me with a kindness that glorifies the Spirit You have placed within me—a kindness expressed through genuine affection, through helping those in need, and through a willingness to open my life and home in eager hospitality.
Ignite in me a fervent spirit, Lord—one that understands the harvest is plentiful and the laborers are few. Remind me that the time I have on this earth carries a holy responsibility. Let me serve You with urgency, devotion, and faithfulness.
Grant me an ardent spirit—high in intensity, alert to opportunity, rejoicing in the hope that flows from Your mercy and grace. Even in trials, may my praise rise. Even in tribulation, may my worship remain sincere, steadfast, and full of hope.
May my knees always bend before You in prayer—prayers of praise and thanksgiving, repentance and surrender, burdens and intercession, pain and healing. Teach me to pray in every season and for every reason, remaining constant before You.
Let my life reflect the love, zeal, hope, patience, generosity, and devotion that honor You. May all I do point back to Christ.
Rooted in prayer, rejoicing in Christ.
