Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Heavenly Father,
What the apostle Paul teaches here are not merely words or ideals written on a page. They are truths You lived out before us in flesh and blood. Through the life, suffering, and obedience of Jesus Christ, You showed us what true righteousness looks like and gave us Your Spirit to follow in His ways.
Lord, I pray that You bless me with a heart that never curses those who persecute me. Teach me to bless instead, just as You did on the cross when You cried out to the Father, asking Him to forgive those who mocked, wounded, and crucified You. Shape my heart to respond with grace where my flesh wants retaliation. God, give me a heart of true compassion. The same compassion that moved Jesus to weep with those who were broken, to be stirred when You saw people burdened, lost, and hurting. Let my heart not grow cold or indifferent, but tender and responsive to the pain of others.
Lord, give me the strength and discipline never to refuse association with the humble. Just as Jesus walked freely among sinners, the outcast, and the forgotten—when religious leaders believed it improper—teach me to value people the way You do, not by status, appearance, or reputation, but by the worth You have placed on every soul.
Jesus never returned evil for evil. When a woman was brought before Jesus in her sin, He silenced her accusers, extended mercy, and restored dignity. He did not take revenge on those who challenged Him, tested Him, betrayed Him for silver, or shouted for His crucifixion. Each time, He knelt before the You and entrusted judgment into Your hands. Lord, grant me the wisdom to truly understand Your ways as I read Scripture. Help me not to read it casually, but to study Your responses, Your silence, Your mercy, and Your surrender. Teach me to apply these truths so that my life reflects a Christ-like standard—overcoming evil with good, choosing peace when possible, and leaving justice where it belongs: with You.
May my life bear witness to Your love, Your humility, and Your righteousness.
