O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified. L Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh? Did you suffer so many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain? Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith— just as Abraham “believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”?
Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham. And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.” So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for establishing Your promise long before we believed — even before the law was given. You called Abraham righteous not because of his works, but because of his faith and obedience. Lord, You made Your promise to him before any law, ritual, or merit, and in that promise You revealed Your heart — that righteousness comes through faith alone.
If it were only by works, then even the genealogy of Jesus Christ could be questioned — how grace and mercy flowed through imperfect men and women. But that is not how You work, God. You work through faith. From Abraham to Jacob, from Joseph to David, from Ruth to Rahab — every single one of them was moved by faith, not by human effort. Through faith, they furthered Your kingdom and fulfilled Your divine plan.
I pray to You, Lord, that You give me such faith — faith that does not waver, that does not get deceived by worldly reasoning. Help me to yearn for that faith, to nurture it, and to act upon it. Let my works be the fruit of faith, not the root of it.
What I have begun in the Spirit, Lord, let me not try to perfect in the flesh. Keep me grounded in the truth that Your salvation is received through faith and not by works of the law.
Thank You, God, that through faith in Jesus Christ we are brought into fellowship with You. It is the purest freedom — the freedom You freely gave us through Jesus Christ, not by our works, but by Your grace alone.
