For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
Prayer Root: Word to Prayer
Heavenly Father,
It is so beautiful to hear Apostle Paul say, “For in this hope we were saved.” Lord, I pray that this truth is always alive in my heart — though my body is still subject to decay, one day it will be raised as a glorified body, fit for the life you have prepared for me.
Dear Lord, remind me daily that life is not a journey toward despair or an inevitable end in a world marked by sin, death, and brokenness. Life — because of You — is an eager anticipation of freedom, renewal, and complete restoration. Let my spirit always remember that your glory is greater than my suffering, and your promise is stronger than anything I face.
Father, help me not just live in this world, but live in You. Help me not only see what is happening around me, but look beyond it — to Your presence, Your goodness, and Your coming glory. Teach me to see not only the consequences of human sin, but also the overwhelming power of Your mercy and love. Lord, let my life revolve around hope and never around despair. Let my heart not wait for death, but wait for life — the life You have promised, the life You are forming in me, and the life I will one day experience fully in Your glory.
