Scripture (ESV)

And his mother and his brothers came, and standing outside they sent to him and called him. And a crowd was sitting around him, and they said to him, “Your mother and your brothers are outside, seeking you.” And he answered them, “Who are my mother and my brothers?” And looking about at those who sat around him, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother.”

Prayer Root: Word to Prayer

Heavenly Father,

How beautiful and comforting are Your words — that whoever does the will of Your Father is Your brother, sister, and mother. In saying this, You did not reject Your earthly family, but You revealed a greater truth—that all who do the will of the Father are welcomed into the intimacy of Your divine family.

Lord, I pray that my spirit be strengthened to say, “Let Your will be done,” not just with my lips, but with my life. Let my actions, words, and thoughts align with Your will so that I may be worthy to be called part of Your family. Teach me to live as Your true disciple — obedient, humble, and faithful — always seeking the Father’s will above my own.

Rooted in prayer, rejoicing in Christ.
