Scripture (ESV)
But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
Prayer Root: Word to Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Apostle Paul unveils the heart of the Gospel — that salvation is a gift, not a wage. No one can claim righteousness through moral perfection or religious discipline, for all humanity shares one common truth: sin. But God, in Your infinite mercy, offered a divine exchange — Jesus, the sinless One, who bore the penalty of sin on our behalf.
Lord, I pray to You that let my heart always feel thankful to You for the immeasurable gift of Your grace. I was lost in sin, but You clothed me with righteousness through Your Son. Teach me to stop striving for what You have already accomplished on the Cross. Let my heart rest in the assurance that I am justified by faith and redeemed by love. Help me live in gratitude, not guilt — in freedom, not fear. May my life reflect Your mercy, and may my faith in Jesus be my constant anchor.
Rooted in prayer, rejoicing in Christ.
