Then what advantage has the Jew? Or what is the value of circumcision? Much in every way. To begin with, the Jews were entrusted with the oracles of God. What if some were unfaithful? Does their faithlessness nullify the faithfulness of God? By no means! Let God be true though every one were a liar, as it is written,
‘That you may be justified in your words,
and prevail when you are judged.’
But if our unrighteousness serves to show the righteousness of God, what shall we say? That God is unrighteous to inflict wrath on us? (I speak in a human way.) By no means! For then how could God judge the world? But if through my lie God’s truth abounds to his glory, why am I still being condemned as a sinner? And why not do evil that good may come?—as some people slanderously charge us with saying. Their condemnation is just.
Prayer Root: Word to Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Like Apostle Paul says, the Jews had the greater advantage of knowing the Scripture, the Law, the promises, and the prophecies of God. We too have access today in the form of the Bible—a divine gift that gives us a tremendous privilege of knowing You. I pray, O Lord, that I may never think it is enough merely to possess Your Word or know it intellectually. Instead, help me to believe it deeply, live it daily, and share it joyfully with others.
God, Your promises are never weakened by human failure. Even when our faith falters, Your covenant love endures forever. You remain faithful and true, the same yesterday, today, and forever. I pray that I never justify sin by claiming it somehow brings glory to You. Sin is rebellion against You—it separates, corrupts, and destroys. Yet, You remain just and perfect, upholding the moral order of Your creation with righteousness and mercy.
Lord, remind me always that grace is not a license to sin. Your forgiveness is not a free pass for rebellion but a divine call to repentance and holiness. May I live humbly before You, never boasting in my spiritual privileges, but sincerely walking in faith that reflects Your righteousness. Let my life be a living testimony of Your truth and a vessel of Your grace—one that glorifies You in all things and never excuses sin.
