Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things. We know that the judgment of God rightly falls on those who practice such things. Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God? Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?

Heavenly Father,
It is very easy to judge people, and You have warned us about it too when You said, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” I pray that You give me a heart that never judges others self-righteously or hypocritically —whether I do it outwardly or in secret thought. Let my conscience always remind me that I am a sinner saved only by Your mercy. You alone are worthy to judge, Lord. I have no authority, no right, no capacity, and no purity to stand in judgment over anyone.
Father, correct my thoughts whenever they begin to wander into judgment. Teach me to look at others with compassion instead of criticism, with prayer instead of pride. Help me remember that Your mercy toward me is not an invitation to sin but a divine call to repentance. May I never take Your patience for granted or mistake Your kindness as approval of wrongdoing.
Remind me daily, Lord, that using Your love and forgiveness as an excuse to continue in sin is one of the greatest tragedies of the heart. Guard my spirit from arrogance and my lips from condemnation. Instead, fill me with humility and grace, that I may reflect Your mercy to others and walk faithfully in Your truth.
