Scripture (ESV)
And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.
Prayer Root: Word to Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Let my soul never grow numb to sin or comfortable with what displeases You, but keep me alert and anchored in Your truth. Transform me daily through the renewing of my mind in Christ Jesus, so that I do not conform to worldly passions but walk in Your light. Father, may I never approve or participate in what You call unrighteous.
Give me courage to stand firm in truth even when it is unpopular, and help me speak life where there is deceit. Let my life shine in the darkness—not in judgment but in love—pointing others toward Your mercy and redemption. Strengthen me to live as a vessel of Your truth and grace, reflecting the righteousness of Christ in a fallen world.
Rooted in prayer, rejoicing in Christ.
