Scripture (ESV)
Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God, which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy Scriptures, concerning his Son, who was descended from David according to the flesh and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations, including you who are called to belong to Jesus Christ, To all those in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Prayer Root: Word to Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Grant me the wisdom of Apostle Paul, who so clearly understood what it means to belong to You. Being a slave of Jesus Christ means I no longer live for myself but for Your will and purpose. Help me to always remember that my life is not my own, but Yours entirely, and give me a heart that delights in humble obedience to my Lord and Savior.
Just as Paul was called to be an apostle, I am reminded that it is You who chooses our roles in Your Kingdom, not we ourselves. Lord, reveal my purpose and help me to fulfill it faithfully. Strengthen me to serve You through the sharing of the good news — that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, became fully human for us, died on the Cross for our sins, and rose again to offer us forgiveness and eternal hope.
I thank You for the grace freely given through Christ — a gift unearned, yet overflowing with Your love and glory. May I never take this grace for granted. Let my life always reflect that I belong to You, walking in faith, obedience, and gratitude as a true servant of Jesus Christ.
Rooted in prayer, rejoicing in Christ.
