The Pharisees came and began to argue with him, seeking from him a sign from heaven, to test him. And he sighed deeply in his spirit and said, “Why does this generation seek a sign? Truly, I say to you, no sign will be given to this generation.” And he left them, got into the boat again, and went to the other side.

Heavenly Father,
In this materialistic and broken world, it is so easy to demand, to question, or to test Your mighty power. When we read tragic news, when we miss the opportunity we were waiting for, when we are passed over for promotions, when loved ones walk away, or when we struggle to make ends meet financially, our natural instinct is to ask, “Where is God?” and to demand that You show us a sign.
Yet, Lord, Your Word reminds me that seeking signs often reveals a heart fully trusting in Your ways. I pray that You give me a heart that does not sway with circumstances, a heart that does not question what I cannot fully understand, and a faith that does not doubt Your presence when life feels uncertain.
Help me, Father, to trust that everything unfolds according to Your perfect plans. Teach me not to ask for signs when You are already working—quietly, faithfully, and powerfully—within me and around me. Even when I do not know the reason, even when it is not the right season, let my heart remain anchored in You.
May I always trust in Your plans, Your protection, and Your provision. Let my faith rest confidently in Your mercy and grace, knowing that You are near, You are in control, and You are always at work for my good.
