Romans 13:11–14 Fulfilling the Law Through Love

Scripture (ESV)

Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed.

The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.

Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy.

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.

Prayer Root: Word to Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for awakening my spirit and reminding me that the time is now. You call me to rise from sleep, to live with urgency, and to walk in the light, knowing that Your salvation is ever near.

Lord, help me cast off every work of darkness—every hidden habit, every distraction, every desire that pulls me away from You. Clothe me instead with the armor of light. Let my life reflect discipline, purity, and self-control, lived openly and honorably before You and before others.

Teach me to put on the Lord Jesus Christ daily—not in words alone, but in my thoughts, choices, and actions. Guard my heart so I make no provision for the flesh, no room for temptation, no excuse for compromise.

May my life testify that I belong to the day and not the night. Shape me to walk alert, faithful, and fully surrendered, until the day I see You face to face.

Rooted in prayer, rejoicing in Christ.
