For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot.
Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.
But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

Heavenly Father,
Your Word teaches that wherever my heart and mind are set, there my life will follow. Lord, I pray that my life will never be dominated by the sinful human nature. May my thoughts not center on myself. May I not obey the desires of the flesh. Let me not be controlled by passions, lust, pride, or selfish ambition.
Instead, Father, let my life be shaped and governed entirely by Your Spirit. Help me to breathe the very atmosphere of Christ. May the mind of Christ be my mind, the desires of Christ be my desires, and the will of God be the only will that defines my life. Make me Spirit-controlled, Christ-led, and God-focused in everything I do.
Lord, give me spiritual maturity to understand that although I belong completely to You and Your Spirit lives in me, I still live in a mortal body affected by the consequences of the fall. Physical death is not punishment for Your children—it is an inevitable passage in this earthly journey. Help me remember that it is only a temporary interlude before eternal life with You.
Fill me with hope, strength, and courage as I look forward to the day of resurrection. Just as Christ was raised from the dead by the power of Your Spirit, I trust that I too will be raised—not just in spirit, but one day in a renewed and glorified body—to live forever with my God.
