Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Jesus Christ, who opened the door for us into the very presence of the King of Kings. And when that door opened, what we found was not condemnation, not judgment, not vengeance—but the sheer, undeserved, incredible kindness of God.
Lord, I pray that whenever I see trouble or face trouble in life, the Holy Spirit gives me more than mere endurance. I pray that I overcome the world—not by my strength, but by the power of Christ within me. Let the Spirit in me not passively endure but actively overcome the trials and tribulations of life, so that I become like metal refined by fire, with every impurity pushed out.
Father, may every trouble shape a character in me that emerges stronger, purer, better, and nearer to You. When I hope in You, my hope will never be reduced to dust and ashes. When I hope in You, I will not be disappointed. When I hope in Your love, it can never be an illusion—for You love me with an everlasting love, upheld by an everlasting power.
