Romans 5:6–11 Peace with God Through Faith

Prayer Root Ministries -> Praying through Scripture -> Romans -> Romans 5

Scripture (ESV)

For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

Prayer Root: Word to Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Apostle Paul beautifully expresses the truth when he calls us “helpless” and “ungodly,” and reminds us that Christ dying for us is the final, undeniable proof of Your love.

I pray, Lord, that You always help me remember that Christ died for a sinner like me. He became the Lamb of God, paying the price with His own blood. He justified us before You, Father, and He sanctifies us day by day through the faith we have in You through Him.

Lord, do not let me waste Your grace and mercy. Make my life a living demonstration of Your heart—Your demeanor, Your attitude—in both my words and my actions. Words cannot capture the wonder of this indescribable gift. Help me never to lose the astonishment of it. Fix my focus continually on You, so that I persist in seeking the astounding mystery and joy of truly knowing You.

Rooted in prayer, rejoicing in Christ.
