And they came to Bethsaida. And some people brought to him a blind man and begged him to touch him. And he took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village, and when he had spit on his eyes and laid his hands on him, he asked him, “Do you see anything?” And he looked up and said, “I see people, but they look like trees, walking.” Then Jesus laid his hands on his eyes again; and he opened his eyes, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. And he sent him to his home, saying, “Do not even enter the village.”
Prayer Root: Word to Prayer
Heavenly Father,
You are the God who calmed the storm. You are the One whose touch healed a woman who had suffered with bleeding for twelve years. You are the One who raised a dead child, speaking life with the words, “Talitha cumi.” For You, healing a blind man is not something that requires steps—yet You chose to work deliberately, teaching Your disciples and teaching us.
Through this miracle, You show that spiritual awakening is often a process. It requires patience. It involves learning, unlearning, and relearning, until my vision becomes fully clear and aligned with Your truth.
I pray, Lord, that You would gently guide me through the process of building a close and abiding relationship with You. Walk with me every step of the way—from limited understanding, to partial clarity, and finally to rejoicing in a fuller understanding of Your glory. Align my heart with Your will.
Open my spiritual eyes to see the depth of the love You have for me, the love You have for my neighbors, and the love You have for the whole world. Help me not only to celebrate that love, but to reflect it and spread it through the gospel.
Lay Your healing hands on my spiritual sight, Lord, until I see clearly—and live faithfully for You.
