“Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea. And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than with two hands to go to hell, to the unquenchable fire. And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame than with two feet to be thrown into hell. And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell, ‘where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.’ For everyone will be salted with fire. Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its saltiness, how will you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.”

Heavenly Father,
You know the true gravity of sin. You know that the fire You speak of is not cruelty, but necessary purification—so that Your kingdom may come on earth as it is in heaven. That is why You taught us to pray, “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” You understand what sin does to the soul long before we feel its weight.
I pray, O God, that if my actions, my path, my ambitions, my desires—if a relationship, a career, or a habit—anything that seems as vital as a hand, a foot, an eye, or a limb leads me away from You, then sever it. Give me the courage to let go. May my heart understand that partial measures are not enough when eternal destiny is at stake.
I pray that You purify me, Lord—like being salted with fire. Burn away pride, ego, self-will, and hidden compromise. Teach me to submit to Your refining discipline now, so that I may walk in Your mercy and not face the eternal consequences of sin. Let Your correction be a mercy I welcome, not a truth I resist.
I pray, Lord, that You help me walk in humility, maintaining a sharp, purified, and disciplined character—one that reflects Your holiness, anchors me firmly to Your will, and guards my heart against the temptations of sin. Let my life retain its saltiness, preserving truth, peace, and faithfulness for Your glory.
