For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.
Why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God; for it is written,
“As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me,
and every tongue shall confess to God.”
So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.

Heavenly Father,
By declaring Christ as Lord of both the living and the dead, the apostle Paul reminds my heart that no realm of existence—neither this earthly life nor what lies beyond—stands outside the sovereign dominion of Jesus. All things rest under His authority, and all lives are held by His rule.
Lord, help me to remember that I have no place sitting in judgment over another, for we are all fellow servants under one Master—You alone. When I judge, I overstep my calling and reach for authority that belongs only to Christ, the One to whom the Father has entrusted all judgment.
Father, keep my mind anchored in this truth: I am not responsible for another person’s conscience or choices, but I am fully accountable for my own. One day I will stand before You to give an account of my life. Let this awareness shape me into a person who is humble, gracious, surrendered, and faithful in all my ways.
Lord, grant me the wisdom to live daily under the awareness that You are the final authority. Before You, every person—including me—must bow. May my knees bend before You in prayer in every season of life, and may my words, my tone, and my conduct continually confess the glory and lordship of Jesus.
