Scripture (ESV)
Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
Prayer Root: Word to Prayer
Heavenly Father,
As the apostle Paul teaches, there is one debt that must be paid every day and yet remains continually owed—love.
I pray, Lord, for Your grace and provision to help me honor every obligation faithfully, while remaining devoted to the debt of love that never ends. I pray, Lord, that my heart would love others just as You have loved me—freely, sacrificially, and without condition.
May I show respect in all my relationships. Help me to restrain every passion and temptation that could harm others or dishonor You. Let my words and actions build up those around me rather than tear them down. Give me a generous heart, willing to help, support, and serve those in need with humility and compassion.
Teach me to live in a way where love fulfills the law—where my life reflects Your goodness, Your mercy, and Your righteousness. Let love be the mark of my faith and the testimony of my walk with You.
Rooted in prayer, rejoicing in Christ.
