For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.

Heavenly Father,
You are a magnificent, majestic, and immeasurable God — the One who laid the foundations of the earth, who set the boundaries for the sea, who commanded the morning and the light, who journeyed through the depths of the sea and stretched out the vast expanse of the earth. You are the dwelling of light and darkness, the keeper of the storehouses of snow and hail, the creator of stars and constellations, the One who controls the rain, lightning, and clouds, and the gracious provider for lions, ravens, and every living creature. O Lord, You are the Creator of everything that has breath and even that which does not.
I pray to You, Lord, that I will always remember and glorify You for the wonders of Your creation. Let gratitude overflow from my heart, let my eyes always see Your hand in all things, and let my mind be filled with awe at Your majesty.
Dear Lord, I understand that idolatry comes in many forms — not only the worship of mortal men, winged creatures, four-footed animals, or creeping things — but also the worship of worldly desires and distractions. Idolatry can be my attachment to position, power, possessions, wealth, success, comfort, relationships, approval, reputation, beauty, knowledge, technology, or even self. I pray to You, Lord, that You would cleanse my heart from every hidden idol. Give me a heart that overcomes all these forms of idolatry — a heart that longs only for You, delights only in You, and lives entirely for You.
