I mean that the heir, as long as he is a child, is no different from a slave, though he is the owner of everything, but he is under guardians and managers until the date set by his father. In the same way we also, when we were children, were enslaved to the elementary principles of the world. But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.

Heavenly Father,
Your timing is always perfect — from the moment of creation to the moment You sent Your Son into the world. Nothing You do is ever late or early; everything happens according to Your divine plan and purpose.
Lord, it’s true — we are all slaves in one way or another. Not just because of our youth or immaturity, but because of our spiritual frailty. We are often bound by temptations, by worldly desires, and by our own limitations. Yet in Your infinite mercy, You sent Your only Son — born of a woman, born under the law — to live among us, to experience our pain and our struggles, and to bear our sins on the cross.
Through His death and resurrection, You freed us from bondage and adopted us as sons and daughters of Your kingdom. No longer slaves, but heirs — heirs of grace, heirs of salvation, heirs of eternal life. And to ensure that we never forget this truth, You gave us Your Spirit — the Spirit that cries within us, “Abba, Father.” What a tender, intimate gift, to call You not just God, but Father.
I pray to You, Lord, that I may always remember who I am in Christ — not a slave to fear, sin, or the world, but a beloved child of Your kingdom. Let me live every day in that identity, walking in the freedom and love that Jesus won for me.
