And in his teaching he said, “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes and like greetings in the marketplaces and have the best seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at feasts, who devour widows’ houses and for a pretense make long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation.”

Heavenly Father,
I come before You asking that my life remain fully surrendered and my actions marked by humility. Guard my heart, Lord, so that my reverence for You is rooted within and not displayed as an outward performance. Make me ever aware when I am tempted to express my faith for the approval of others or for self-interest. May everything I do be for Your glory alone and for the advancement of Your kingdom.
Lord, build within me a deeper sense of responsibility and accountability, especially when I serve or interact with those in need. Let my help be genuine, my motives pure, and my compassion sincere. Protect me from allowing spiritual words or deeds to mask pride or self-interest.
Teach me to love and serve as Jesus did—with integrity, mercy, and truth—so that my life reflects a faith that honors You and brings glory to Your holy name.
