Mark 12: 35-37 (Whose Son Is the Christ?)

Scripture (ESV)

And Jesus began to teach, as he taught in the temple, “How can the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David? David himself, in the Holy Spirit, declared, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet.’ David himself calls him Lord. So how is he his son?” And the great throng heard him gladly.

Prayer Root: Word to Prayer

Heavenly Father,

You are far greater than my understanding, and Your ways are higher than mine. Lord, even David, a man after Your own heart, called the Messiah “Lord,” showing that Your wisdom and power surpass all human expectation.

I pray, Lord, that You deepen my understanding of who Jesus truly is—the Christ, the Son of God, the fulfillment of every promise. Let my heart not be confined by tradition or human reasoning, but open to the revelation of Your Spirit.

May my faith be firmly anchored in the truth that Jesus is Lord and Savior, the One who triumphs over every enemy and reigns in authority over all creation. Let me hear His voice gladly, embrace His Word fully, and live in the joy of knowing that my Savior is sovereign, mighty, and eternal.

Rooted in prayer, rejoicing in Christ.
